Where Will We Get To?
Where will we get to
Is there a better somewhere
Are the things that we’re missing
Waiting for us there
The boxes we dwell in
Made of comfort and fear
Were they built upon bargains
Shrinking year after year
Are the stories the same ones
Just recalled and retold
Will our words lose their thrust
Do time and truth make them cold
Can we make ourselves stronger
By simply setting us free
To be who we are
Instead of who we should be
Where will we get to
Can we forecast the weather
Will we find ourselves lost
Or will we gather together
Can we unfold our secrets
Lead each other to see
Let our weaknesses bind us
Forging strength in the ‘we’
There’s not one living soul
That another can’t find
If open peers the heart
And open keeps the mind
We’ll come find each other
But we will never be home
Until we learn to surrender
All that keeps us alone
