What Is That?

 

Could that be fur

Or some unknown fuzz?

Doesn’t seem to be moving

Is it an ‘is’ or a ‘was’?

 

A giant dust bunny?

An enormous dead bug?

Why is it lying there

In my way on the rug?

 

Can I just remove it?

This mysterious blob

Is it alright to touch?

Am I up for this job?

 

It's a big bulky dilemma

This dark matter of smudge

Where did it come from?

Why won't this thing budge?

 

Is it lying on its back

Pointing up with all fours?

Should I get out my broom

And sweep it outdoors?

 

I think I'll just leave it

Let my guests play a part

In guessing the meaning

Behind this 'objet d’art'

 

And if they should ask me

I’ll simply explain that

It’s a nouveau rendition

Of a dead fat ass cat !
