What’s Within Us

 

Struggling deeply in the mud

That rose from tide and flood

In a fog forever thickening

Over path so quickly quickening

How can we all improve

When we're stuck and cannot move

In this water mixed with earth

Without the freedom of self-worth

 

Can our spirits conquer strife

Find true meaning in this life

Bring the pain down to its knees

Climb all mountains, calm the seas

See a light to fetch a rope

To the well of dwindlng hope

And vanquish all the fears

That have gathered over years

 

The first thing we must address

Is that the answer's always ‘YES’

To attain the furthest star

We must uncover who we are

Build our souls to better bear

Let them rise and give us care

As we grow and learn to feed them

They'll stand ready when we need them

 

The way out will shrink in length

When we summon inner strength

The low light will glow much brighter

When the victim turns to fighter

Armed by every past defeat

To claim the final victory sweet

For devil's damage cannot thin us

When we find what’s deep within us
