What Dreams May Do

It starts with a spark

That ignites a flame

The heart is awakened

It inscribes a name

Tomorrow looks brighter

Each day you’re excited

Perhaps an end to the vigil

Of a soul unrequited

You try to calm steady

But the heartbeat is such

That you’re willing and ready

To soar with its touch

You go slowly with hope

It can be a fickle date

That can’t guarantee

A reward for your wait

Be open and truthful

With both head and heart

Don’t forecast conclusion

And lose sight of the start

You must always remember

When you give love a try

Some dreams become magic

And some dreams will die
